A night away, and editing Mars.

The night away from the children went very well. So well, in fact, that I am still recuperating!
Quite a few beers were had, and I ain’t the spring chicken I used to be. I’m also not the drunkard I used to be, but I’m not complaining about that.
Let’s just say there wasn’t much sleep to be had.

Thanks to my baby sister, I don’t think the girls even noticed we were gone.

We arrived home to big hugs, and big smiles.

Oldest is scheduled to begin attending Montessori school next Wedensday. She’s very excited, as are we. I will end up spending quite a bit of time there, I think, as they trade parental labor for tuition. Should be interesting to see how that goes.

Folks, I’m sorry I haven’t been doing “real” writing lately, but my head just isn’t in that space. I do have a couple of things I want to write about, but it seems to be very hard to get into that groove these days.

Something will come soon….

I want to give a quick shout out to Daniel Jalkut of Red Sweater software. I use MarsEdit as my offline blogging app, and it is the best Mac app out there. Easy to use, easy to extend, and great support from Daniel. Please support your small developers!

Flattening things that won’t stay flat.

So who the hell came up with the whole idea of ironing clothes, anyway?
Yeah, guess what I’ve been doing for the last couple of hours? Ironing 2 shirts, 1 coat and a pair of Pants. We have an event to go to Tomorrow, and I have to do Psycho Momia proud. So I get to bust out the suit that gets worn 2, maybe three times in a year.
Pull it out, and damn! Looks like a topo map of the Grand Canyon. And can somebody explain to me how they got covered in cat hair – when they hang 6 feet off the ground?

That’s oldest daughter, showing her colors. You can too, by going to Cafe Press .

We are going to an interview tomorrow for “her school”. It’s a local Montessori school, and has a great feel. Not cheap however. Not even inexpensive. I think (as her mama does) that she would flourish there.

We’ll see…

Oh, and Rosemary – I haven’t forgotten about you…I just never remember at appropriate times.

1408

I was just watching 1408, the Stephen King Movie with John Cusack and Sam Jackson. Man…45 minutes in, and I had to stop watching it. Nightmares shall ensue tonight for sure, and I’m not even in the thick of it.

Writing a lot in “Nick Stone, Vagabond”. I want to bang out a full outline before I script it all. I have a feeling I know how it’s going to go, but stories have a way of turning when you least expect them to.

More tomorrow.
