A Multitude of Miscellany.

The storm is upon us. OLOPM will be here in a few hours. I shall be cooking her a birthday dinner which I hope turns out well. Shouldn’t be an issue, as I’m not a bad cook. Not a great one, either, but…

The girls are all excited, which is making them difficult to handle. They’re not being “bad”, per se, but are definitely high energy, and high maintenance. Should be fun getting them bathed.

Been Spending a lot of brainpower on the upcoming Kallisti Medias Project. WYSIWYG web editors all suck. And they make my brain hurt. I really need to learn Cocoa so I can program my own tools, ones that work the way my head does.

I’ve been “reading” Spook Country by William Gibson. In reality, I’m actually listening to it via the unabridged audiobook.
He, as always is a master of detailed descriptions, including little things that set the tone of the world you are vicariously exploring. Spook Country is set in the Now, and so is a different experience than his prior art. As I listen, I keep finding things to google. Crazy, I tell ya….the things you can find if you only know to look for them. I highly recommend All of his work. Get them here: William Gibson Books

The quiet before the storm.

It’s fairly quiet right now. Kids are watching Sesame Street, and “reading” People Magazine. Um, Psycho-Momia, where did that come from?

I have 2 days left with WFM, and I’m not looking forward to either of them. The next seven days get a bit Crazy around here, and I’d so like some downtime before it all breaks loose, but that’s not in the cards. Grammy and her… “other” are coming towards the end of the week as one of Psycho-Momia‘s cousins is getting hitched over the weekend. I like my MIL, and love having her here. It’s just the run-up to her arrival that gets chaotic.

I’m getting ready to grab the girls and head for the big orange box store that sell hardware to get a few items that I need to fix the bed in the “guestroom” (don’t ask…);-) .

I enjoy working with my hands and building/creating things. It’s a good thing too, as I have to work on the attic to Master Bedroom project as well this week. Pray for cool weather, please! There are times though, that repairs and construction frustrate me. I have so many cool ideas running around in my head for everything from toys for the girls, to furniture for the house, to just crazy “art” kind of things – but there’s no time for them, it seems.

Hopefully the new job/life schedule will allow for some energy spent in that direction.

I gotta wear shades!

So life has been interesting to say the least. In addition to the aforementioned chaos, Psycho-Momia has reconnected with an old, as she puts it, “Um,friend”. I get the feeling that if they were not both obstinate, Psycho-Momia and I would’ve never had a chance even to meet. For that reason, I’m glad they are both bull headed!

Anyway, this reconnection has Psycho-Momia glowing like an out of control nuclear reactor. I’m all a-frubble about this.

One great thing is that Um,Friend and I seem to think quite a bit alike. We are both devious, deviant, and love to tease her. If only she knew….

The mood of things around here is quite up and optimistic. It seems as though things are shaking out in a way that is better than can be beleived. Our New Tenant will be coming for the beginning of September, and we are looking forward to that. (Hiya, Summerhawk!)
I’m in the homestretch of my notice at the un-named soon to be former employer. I’ve been granted seasonal status – which means I’ll have to go back and work there a few days every couple of months, which I can handle. The “fruity” company job, I’m 90% sure is in the bag. They requested a background check on me, which generally means they are serious about wanting me to work there. This job will bring the steady cash that is needed, while giving me much more freedom to be with the Family and develop my own business from home. Look for an announcement about that here soon.

The future’s so bright, I gotta wear shades!
