Since last post, lots of stuff going on.
In the parlance of The Simpsons, I got promoted to Brainiac at the Fruit. This means mo’ money, mo betta hours, and a 2 week training trip to either Cali or Texas. Of course, I want to go to Cali. But that is up to the gods. This is a job I’ve wanted for a very long time. Regardless of when or where I go, it will be a bit difficult. At most, I’ve only been away from the girls overnight -ever. While I’m on the left coast, I hope to take a weekend trip up to see Todd atImperial Tattoo in Portland. Be nice to get my forearms finished finally!

We still haven’t heard anything about Psycho Momia‘s ride. But we have mostly adjusted to not having it anymore. Through the kindness of a friend, we have unlimited use of a car, which takes a lot of the stress off.

We have also come to the conclusion that we won’t be able to send both girls to montessori in the fall. It’s just too much money. Oldest child will have to go to public school, where she will do fine, but maybe not learn as much or as easily. On the flip side, Psycho Momia is looking into possibly becoming a Montessori Teacher.

Coming up is an all night gaming session with Agrippa and Zen Bones. I am thoroughly looking forward to it.
In a fun backwards look, my last post about sex and the parent, stimulated (heh) some interesting conversations. That, and a couple of other things, brought us back to life. Naturally, due to the perverse nature of the universe, we are smashingly horny – and I’m sick, with the worst of it happening at night.

Sometimes, ya just can’t win.

Speaking of winning, Obama was sworn in the other day. Lots of money was wasted. lots of very powerful, yet empty crap was said, and the separation of church and state was again mocked. Meanwhile, politics continued on in it’s normal fashion. His administration reiterated that the bullshit telecom immunity will be upheld, as more info that the NSA basically raped the US datastream, building dossiers or everyone with a net or phone connection came out. He publishes info that says former lobbyists won’t be working in related offices, and yet, the nominee for deputy defense secretary used to work for Raytheon.
No bailouts have been killed, no pullouts have happened, more taxes are being proposed, more spending of money on useless shit is being planned.
Change. Yeah right.

We have all recuperated from the evil plague that settled upon us as locusts.

Much time since then has been spent in quiet repose, thinking and dreaming.

Snippets of life:

Smallest child, crawling about the kitchen whilst chasing Jane the cat –
“Jane has a hole in her!”

While at a playdate (who in the seven names of hell came up with that term, anyway? Last bloody thing I want to think about is my daughter having a date….)
Oldest (wearing a neon green fedora): “Juliana and I are getting married!” Well, at least it’s legal in this state!

In case you didn’t notice, the google ads are gone. According to them, I did something wrong. They, however, do not actually tell you what it was that you did. Kinda like the US Government….
Anybody have any suggestions on alternate revenue producers? I don’t need much – just enough to pay for this hobby. And, no, I won’t do pay per post. Seems a perversion to me.

Yeah, I know. I said I’d be around more. Well, life is life and sometimes you can’t get what you want, you get what you need. Spent some quality time with Psycho Momia, some more with the wee ones, handling a sick cat, and dealing with some issues that I won’t get into here. Let’s just say no good deed ever goes unpunished.

Oldest Child got her first “report card”, and made us very proud. Montessori does their reports ver’ different than “traditional” schools. But she did very well, If I do say so myself.

In a conversation with Smallest Child, I asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up. Without hesitation, she replied emphatically “Dada!” Made me cry like an emo kid.

I got my first physical in 10 years – he told me pretty much everything I already knew. Need more exercise, and to drop 10-15 pounds. Naw, you gots to be kidding me…. I’ll tell ya, I don’t remember Tetanus boosters hurting so much later….

Many thoughts collide with my head, and it’s hard to make sense of them. I have relationship crap, father crap, financial crap, work crap, music crap, health crap. My head is full of crap, and so am I.

Every so often there is a bright star that shines through it all.
A smile from one of the girls, a certain look fromPsycho Momia, a warm touch, the purring of one the cats, a sincere thank you from a customer.

Those are the things that bring me up out of the gloom for as long as I can hold it in my mind.

Oh yeah…I should writing stuff here. Deep pithy stuff about my kids and family, and how they effect my life. Sad thing is, I’m so busy with them I don’t have much time to right about them. We have a new family member. Her name is Jane, and she picked us.

She is Rose’s special friend, as there was something mentioned about wanting a kitty for her birthday. We had to explain that critters are not something you give for presents – well, at least we don’t. We also had to tell her that Jane is all of ours. Jane? You say…what kind of name is Jane for a Cat?

Well, Rose is in love with this really cool show called Jane and The Dragon A Canadian show, produced by an EnnZed Company (Weta Digital – one of the very best….), based on a series of books by a British Author.

(Buy them here, and help me get them for her….)

Rose has had no problems that I’m aware of at school, which is a relief. She is quite happy and making friends. Lilah is always excited to bring Rose to school – she even tells Rose she’ll miss her, but “I come pick she up”. All is well – until Rose walks away from the car. Then, the waterworks begin. “I don’t want Rose to go….” Lasts about 5 minutes, with lots of reassurances from me (of course, I at the same time am trying to drive us home…always fun!). By the time we get home all is well, and we are ready for Shnooze time.

Psycho Momia and I are deep within the special kinds of hell that come with being retail sluts at this time of year. The week of Turkey day I had to do 2 overnights getting ready for black friday. It felt more gray to me. Just didn’t seem like folks were piling high – although in my direct experience, the Fruit doesn’t do huge discounts – mostly cause they don’t need to.

Poor Psycho Momia Got hammered on at her store, as she works the other side – food. Man, this is the first time in 10 years I didn’t have to go through it, and I’m glad. I think I’ll arrange for us to be in EnnZed or something next year – so she doesn’t have to go through that.
