So I’ve been quiet for a while. Sorry about that. Lots of stuff has been happening, but most of has been very mundane, and not worth reporting.
It’s kind of odd, but I don’t seem to pick up on the amusing things about life like other parent bloggers do. Maybe I’m just too “in the moment”, or too self involved to grab these tidbits to share.
I dunno.
Some interesting points from the past bits of time:
- I have a new nickname: The Foghorn of Doom. Ask Psycho-Momia, and she’ll be happy to explain it.
- The Fruit Company job is going pretty well, although there is much more to it than I anticipated. Supposed to be part time, but I’ve been scheduled for at least 35 hours every week. That should be changing, as I pointed that out to the gent who makes the schedule.
- I’m not going to get into the details, but I am talking with my Dad. One day soonish, I will get to sit down with him.
- I haven’t launched the new endevour due to time constraints (see above) and the craptacular standards support of IE. Anyone know css/html hacks to make dynamic sites work in IE 6?
- Smallest Child has been exerting her will in strange ways, and with surprising strength. Makes my head hurt, she does!
- Smallest Child has also been growing her vocabulary and grammar at amazing rates. Pronunciation is still lacking a bit, but keeps getting clearer every day.
- Oldest Child is expanding her imagination in leaps and bounds.
- She also has the longest list of wants for her birthday ever. No matter how much I try to explain the reasons why she can’t have a waterslide at her birthday party in December, she still wants one.
- We did get to go on a hayride and picked a massive amount of Apples with Ray, Linda, Nick and Ashley at Parlee Farm. It was alot of fun! Glenda was also along, although I thought she was going to melt in sun.
I tend to miss things like just how tall Oldest girl is. She will be turning 5 in two months time, and Ashley is 9 (IIRC). And maybe Ashley is just small, but Oldest Girl was about a half inch taller than her. I may have a giant on my hands. - An old friend just got hitched. Congrats, Karen and Matt. Good luck and goddess bless. Karen has been my Hair Stylist for many years now. She is pretty damned awesome, as is her partner in crime, Kim. You can find them at The Avalon Salon in Fitchburg, MA. It’s worth the drive for any of you Bostonites.
That’s about it for now. Got housework to get back too.
Oh, One more thing.
If you are in the Boston Area, we are having our Annual Halloween Party soon - well - around the time of halloween.
If you are interested in coming, drop me a line via the contact link in the main menu above.
I’ve just been alerted to the fact that today is “Official De-lurking Day”!
So show me who you are, and delurk by posting in the comments.
Yeah, I mean YOU!

Now that I have kids I seem to like Fall more. Of course living in Vermont, I’d be hard pressed to hate it, though the busload of senior citizens filling up our favorite farm where lill moonspun and I were getting a creemie yesterday was a bit annoying. I remember visiting the maple farm when I myself was a tourist and now we pass it regularly. I sat on a rocking chair on their wrap around porch enjoying a maple creemie watching lil moonspun feed grass to sheep, taking in the amazing colors of the mountains I could see and being in awe that I call this home now.
And then again there are those blinking bats with purple lights lil moonspun and I hung up while Halloween decorating. Or how darn proud my little seven year old, who is getting so tall was sporting her brand new Brownie vest last night after her Girl Scout meeting.
I don’t know with our impending move that we will make it down to your party this year, but I really want to!!! I have such fond memories of lil moonspun at 15 months old wearing her purple teletubby suit and walking around your house with fistfulls of red and yellow peppers!
